Austin, TX September 17, 2009— Through the years accordionist/arranger/producer Joel Guzman and singer/songwriter Sarah Fox have been hailed for their artistry, creative muse and dedication to high quality CDs. Now comes recognition for their hard work. The Grammy-winning couple has just received a nomination to the 2009 Latin Grammy in the category for “Best Tejano Album” with their latest production “Conjuntazzo.”

“I am ecstatic simply because it feels great to finally be acknowledged as one of the main artists and not just a participant," said Fox. Guzman added that: "the Grammy nomination is significant because while we have always been involved with many artists (as producers, collaborators), we have always continued to put out high quality works like 'Short Stories' and 'Latinology.' "'Conjuntazzo' is a culmination of our heritage, our art and our tradition that features our strength as a team.” “It feels great to be acknowledged for this body of work.” The nominated album was released on June 2009. Guzman Fox Records released their first radio single “Rosa Negra” earlier this year (June 2009). The song was written by Fox. Guzman and Fox are currently on tour promoting “Conjuntazzo.”

“Joel Guzman is one of the finest musicians I have ever worked with. He is truly inspirational. I never put Joel in (recording) situation where he didn't have a problem that he could not solve. Everybody is always impressed with his work, even those unfamiliar with his work. He definitely looks beyond the standard and norms in what he is working on, and is always looking to expand.”

--Steve Berlin, noted producer (Los Lobos, Super Seven, Aztex, Michelle Shocked)

"Although Sarah Fox is at the top of her game as one of Texas' leading Latina singers, she easily transcends the cultural genres and barriers. Her passionate songwriting, visceral vocals, and dynamic stage presence make her one of the most exciting contemporary performers anywhere."
